Vintage 1960's lime green cocktail dress by Miss Elliette
This absolutely remarkable lime green chiffon cocktail dress is a little dream! It has been in my closet for many years and I only wore it once.
The brand, Miss Elliette was created by Elliette Ellis, who attended the Traphagen School of Fashion in New York to learn the dress business. After graduating, Ellis went out to Los Angeles to start her own company in 1952. They made mid-priced chiffon cocktail dresses that were very feminine, even in the 1960s and 1970s when fashion had moved in a different direction.
It is in great condition with some minor imperfections on the left side under the arm opening. (pictured)
The top and bottom and fully lined with a layer in between the skirt, that feels like a soft cotton. The decorative bow, the textured fabric, and the way the pleated skirt flows when worn makes up for the most exquisite little cocktail dress!
I chose to not to model this for the photos because the top part has never fit me just right, so I felt it wouldn’t properly portray the fit well.
There is no care tag, but I recommend that this garment be dry cleaned only due to it being made of delicate chiffon fabric.
Measurements
Bust: 36” (total)
Waist: 29” inches (total)
Hips: 22” inches (double) (measured inside lining since it is closer to the body)
